Tom Winyard – Head of High Value Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence


A Senior Costs Lawyer, Tom has well over 20 years of experience in all aspects of Civil and Commercial Litigation, having prepared Bills and taken matters to assessment in all courts up to and including the Supreme Court. In addition to this, Tom has experience of dealing with costs in the Land, Tax and Employment Tribunals. Tom has a special emphasis and interest in dealing with high value/complex clinical negligence matters, professional negligence and civil liberties cases to include death in custody and claims (including HRA) against the police, MOJ, MOD and the Home Office. Since the Jackson reforms were implemented, Tom has taken a special interest in preparing Costs Budgets/Precedent H’s on a plethora of Multi Track cases, preparing on average 3-4 budgets a month and attending upon CCMHs as necessary. Tom has further been a key designer of and instrumental in the production of the ACL’s new electronic bill and has given several talks on the implementation of the bill since its use became mandatory.
